One of the least fun parts of traveling is dealing with the bloat. When you're on the go, it's hard to eat healthy and exercise like you normally would at home. As a result, many people end up feeling sluggish, puffy, and just overall lousy while they're on vacation. But it doesn't have to be this way! With a little bit of planning, you can avoid feeling bloated while you travel. Here are some tips on how to beat the bloat.

1. Drink lots of water
This one should be a no-brainer, but it's surprising how many people don't drink enough water when they travel. Dehydration can cause all sorts of problems, including fatigue, headaches, and yes, bloating. To avoid dehydration (and the accompanying bloating), make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. I like to carry a reusable water bottle with me so that I can always have water on hand.

2. Eat slowly and mindfully
When you're traveling, it's easy to wolf down your meals in between sightseeing and airports. But eating too quickly can cause bloating and indigestion. Whenever possible, try to sit down and savor your meals. Chew slowly and put your fork down in between bites. Not only will you enjoy your food more, but you'll also avoid that uncomfortable stuffed feeling.

3. Avoid salty foods
A little bit of salt is fine, but Too much sodium can cause you to retain water and feel bloated. So try to stay away from processed foods and dishes that are loaded with salt. When in doubt, ask your waiter or waitress about the sodium content of a dish before ordering it.

4. Watch your alcohol intake
Alcohol is another big bloating culprit . It's dehydrating and can cause
digestive problems . So try to limit yourself to one alcoholic beverage per day,
if possible . And if you do drink , make sure to chase it with a glass of water .

5 . Don ' t forget to exercise
Just because you ' re on vacation does not mean you should take a break from exercise . In fact , exercising while you travel can help reduce stress , improve your sleep , and even ward off jet lag . A quick run or swim in the hotel pool can do wonders for your energy levels (and your waistline).
